Surry County Voluntary Agricultural District Program

The intention of the Surry County Voluntary Agricultural District Program is to preserve farmland through voluntary participation and to enhance the identity of an agricultural community. It also educates farmers and the general public by identifying the area, through signage, as an agricultural region. Participants sign conservation agreements stating they will follow conservation practices with assistance from Surry SWCD.
