Elkin:
– Surry Center behind new Dollar Tree and near Shiki’s Wed.-Fri. 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
– Elkin Police Department thru Friday until Noon
– Elkin Presbyterian Church thru Wednesday until 3 p.m.
Dobson:
– Surry County Farmers Market near Surry County Tax Office Wed.-Fri. 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
– Surry County Sheriffs Office
– Wayne Farms 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wed. and Thurs., 7 a.m. to 12 Noon on Friday
– Town of Dobson through Thursday (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at Town Hall
Pilot Mountain:
– Pilot Mountain Police Department

Surry County will be collecting items to take to areas in need in our western counties beginning on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 and continuing through Friday, October 4, 2024. This timeframe may be extended if needed.

The site locations will be:

Mount Airy Resource Building, 1218 State Street

Dobson Farmers Market, 903 E Atkins Street

The Elkin Center, 1461 N Bridge Street

Collection hours will be 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. each day. Attached is a list of items to be accepted, per FEMA guidelines.

  • Non-Perishable Foods
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Plastic Sheeting /Tarps
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Toiletries/Sanitation Items
  • Pet Food (Dogs & Cats)
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Sanitizer Wipes
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • Heavy Work Gloves
  • Sock (All Sizes)
  • Bottled Water (Cases)
