Assessing Spring Freeze Damage to Strawberries

The record high temperatures of March and early April 2012, accelerated strawberry growth and development about 3 weeks earlier than normal for that time of year. Temperatures dipping to the mid-20’s during the second week of April hit when many strawberry flowers and developing fruit were vulnerable to freeze damage.
