The Healthy Kids 2017 campaign is designed to help you and your family stay healthy. We will be providing information and useful links that will focus on healthy eating habits and the importance of a physically active lifestyle. The information provided here comes from the United States Department of Agriculture’s website, MyPlate is an easy-to-follow guide to eating nutritious, balanced meals. The colorful plate is divided into sections that include fruits, vegetables, protein, grains, and dairy.

Happy Easter! Make sure you have a big glass of milk with your eggs and bacon! For the month of April, we would like to emphasize the importance of low-fat and fat-free dairy products. The dairy group includes milk, yogurt, cheese, and fortified soymilk. They provide calcium, vitamin D, potassium, protein, and other nutrients needed for good health throughout life. Check out the “Got your dairy today?” tip sheet for tips on how to incorporate dairy into your diet.
